Last week's story: "Everyone was wearing NOUN for Casual Friday at the office, but I VERB mine at home."

Your gracious host, Trucy, runs a weekly magic show. To get the audience pumped up before the show, Trucy begins with a simple trick - a short mad libs story, a bit of magic, a couple of cards, and voila: free stuff! You might also be entertained, but no guarantees.

Trucy needs help deciding what her story will be about; however, it's funnier if the audience doesn't know until afterward, so you'll just have to submit your cards and see what happens at the end of the round. Help her fill out the major details by submitting deck names to fill in the blanks of her story idea. Summary: Yuna Hollander has always loved hockey, from the first time her father sat her in front of a television screen to watch a game after dinner. It was the one thing she most looked forward to passing on to her own children, and she’s grateful that Shane took to it the way he did. She’s proud of everything he’s accomplished and will accomplish, and of the man he’s becoming. So, when Shane tells her, the summer before his rookie season, that he’s gay, she’s determined to do everything she can to ensure that his identity won’t keep him from what matters most to him: hockey.
Over the course of his rookie season, Yuna helps Shane navigate the politics of the MLH and make plans for his future, a future she becomes increasingly certain is going to feature Ilya Rozanov in a starring role.

Reccer's Notes: This is told from Yuna's POV and is a great character portrait of Yuna, and the nature of the AU makes the story inherently gentler on both Shane and Ilya than canon. Yuna and David learn about Shane being gay after the CCM shoot, and realize that he's with Ilya far earlier as well. Yuna of course starts taking Ilya under her managerial wing as well, in their rookie season. There are the usual hockey-culture-related barriers and stresses, but everything comes to a head a lot sooner in this AU, with an easier outcome for Ilya and Shane. The resolution of the fic is far fluffier than canon, as a result. A lovely read, and the podfic is excellent.

After the past few days, I decided to do something easy. At my stitch in, I wound 10 skeins of second-hand cotton yarn for washing (The photo shows only 6 skeins, because there were multiple skeins of some colors, and I wound those together.)

Floor guys were back today - aw, shit, I didn't mention what happened yesterday, 'cause of all the suckiness. They came yesterday morning and took a look, and sanded back the weird bits and re-stained! And then today they came back and did another top coat! So that should all be fixed now, fingers crossed! Just gotta let it dry, and also probably air out because stiiiinky. Still, can probably start moving furniture back in over the weekend, finally! \o/

Other than that, it was absolutely gorgeous weather this afternoon so I went out the back and... well... I mean I was kinda thinking of doing the bike but I instead mucked out the chooks. Which needed doing! And is probably more urgent than the bike?? Probably. There was a worm in their water bucket, which was weird. I guess it must have got thrown up in there somehow? One of the girls extremely fucked up trying to eat it, maybe?? I dunno. Anyway hopefully it'll be happier in the compost bin!

Also some Vintage Story, of course. Nothing too interesting though, just attempting to improve tech and failing because I still can't find any fucking iron deposits which is weird as hell and also very annoying. :/ I will find a different direction to try tomorrow, I guess!!! On the plus side I did at least clear out this one locust nest, that's something...

- Most of my posts are access locked, and are put into groups so people who are only interested in topic A doesn't have to see topic B. I'm a self-shipper, a soulbonder, and while I don't want to be on any side of the pro/antishipping debate I do use dark fiction as a way to cope with mental health issues, if you can't accept that we won't get along. I do sometimes post personal things but most of my posts are/will be fandom related, with maybe a few spirituality or general hobby (I, have a lot of crafting hobbies) related ones. I also roleplay (only text-based) but not sure if it'll come up.

- I won't follow people that post about discourse and/or politics (unless things are well tagged and behind a cut), fiction-wise I do have my limits as well but again if it's tagged and hidden behind a cut it's fine.

Everyone seems so nice and cool so far and it’s honestly been so WONDERFUL to talk to other JokaWon fans!! Hopefully the project goes well and I can’t wait for everyone to see it!! I’m so excited I could CRY!! ; u;

Now that the hard part is over, we are back to our regularly scheduled programming of staring into the Gaping Maw of my JokaWon/ReNagi WIPs to see what I can use for this…xD Like it’s a ZINE, I wanna do my VERY BEST but hopefully I will and it’s just me overthinking and THE SELF-DOUBT OWHFOSUCHSOD
